Indoor Environmental Quality

In addition to being friendly to the earth, a home should be healthful for its inhabitats. Some of the features that enhance the indoor environmental quality of our home include:

  • A ventilation system provides constant fresh air, cleaned by a HEPA filter. A heat exchanger minimizes heat loss by the system. The system also dehumidifies the air in summer, while retaining humidity in winter.

    Specification:

    Venmar HEPA 4100
Air flow: 70 to 105 cubic feet per minute
Ventilates an area of up to 3,000 square feet
    Wall control allows variable-speed operation

  • Interior paints are Benjamin Moore's no-VOC and low-VOC paints. More about VOCs...

  • There is no carpet in the home.

  • An exhaust fan in the garage is triggered whenever the garage door opens.
